Notes: It is believed that the Rimmer's are descendents from the Rimmers whofa rmed near Edinburg, Scotland and then moved to Sheffield, England. Two of the three brothers came to America in 1627, one remained in England. The brother were originally in Pennsylvania and then moved to NorthCaro lina where they were prominent tobacco growers. One stayed in NC andth e other returned to Penn. James Rimmer farmed on Bushy Fork, Flat River in Caswell County NorthCa rolina. In 1791 Person County was formed from Caswell and OrgangeCunti es. James died in 1809. His estate was inventoried on Aug. 1809. Fromprob ate records we know that his wife was Phoebe and he had ten children.Hi s estate was adminitered in November 1811. Phoebe does not appear once nsus records after 1820 and it si believed that she must have died.Both s he and James are probably burred in Person Co.
