Notes: Alternate date of baptism: 1 June 1606, per "Hale, House & Related Fami lies," pg. 579. Thomas Hills and his brother(?) William came to Roxbury , MA in 1632 as indentured manservants to the Rev. John Eliot. Accordin g to the Hills Family Genealogy, Thomas died before becoming a freeman. According to the "History of the First Church in Roxbury, MA, 1630-1904 ," by Walter Eliot Thwing, Thomas came in 1633 (a year after his brothe r?) and the following is quoted from that book: "He lived among us in g ood esteem and Godly & dyed about the 11th or 12th month of 1634 and le ft a good savor behind him, he was a very faithful and prudent servant a nd good christian. He dyed in Mr. Eliot's family." This quote appears to confirm the information in the Hills Genealogy th at the Hills brothers were indentured to Rev. Eliot.
