Notes: James is found on the 1820 census, Moore Co., North Carolina p 317 just 2 lines (households) after Burton Wammack. We believe this would be justifiable confirmation that Burton is his father. 1 male 16-26 (1794-1814) and 1 female 16-26 It is said that James andSarah were both born in 1794. The 1830 Census for Moore Co., North Carolina shows James with 2 males under age 4 (Andre and Charles Rufus), 1 male 5-10 (George), 1 male 30- 40 (James) and 1 female 5-10 (Elizabeth), 1 female 30-40 (Sarah). James and Sarah left North Carolina and moved to Lincoln Co., Tennessee between 1830 and 1831. The 1840 Census for Lincoln Co., Dist. 19 p. 72, shows James and Sarah with 2 males under 5, 2 ages 10-15, 1 ages 15-20, 1 ages 30-40 and 1 female under 5, 1 ages 5-10, 1 ages 15-20, and 1 30-40 . It is noted that 4 of these children (3 boys and 1 girl) were born in North Carolina. The other 4 ( 2 boys and 2 girls) were born in Tennesse e. James is found on the 1836 tax list for Lincoln Co., Tennessee A deed in Lincoln, Co., Tennessee shows James a buying land in 1838 and sold it in 1840. James left Lincoln Co., Tennessee and migrated to Wright Co., MO. sometime after 1840---probably immediately following the sale of his land. Then, too, we find his oldest son, Andrew, now married and living in Wright Co., with his first child born there in 1842. James is found on the 1850 Census, Wright Co., MO., age 56, born in NC. , his wife Sarah, age 56 born in NC., Martha age 18 born in TN., William age 16 born in TN., Mary age 14 born in TNand James age 12 born in TN. the other children born in NC were all married by now. The 1860 Census for Webster Co, MO., shows James and Sarah as age 63 a nd both born in NC.
